Tacoma Shock Relocation / 2005-2016

The DRT Fabrication Tacoma Rear Shock Relocation Kit is designed for 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma models and built for use with 2.5 x 12–14” shocks.

By relocating the rear shocks, this kit increases down travel while maintaining — and often improving — up travel numbers. Built from heavy-duty 3/16” and 1/4” steel, powder-coated satin black for corrosion resistance, and reinforced with frame overlays, it’s engineered for durability in the toughest off-road conditions.

Limit strap tabs and all necessary hardware are included, making it the ultimate solution for Tacoma owners who want to maximize suspension performance and achieve over 13” of wheel travel (leaf pack dependent).

Fitment: 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma

Shock size: Designed for 2.5 x 12–14” shocks (12” recommended)

Travel: Capable of 13”+ travel with 12” shocks (leaf pack dependent)

Construction:

3/16” shock towers, powder-coated satin black

1/4” lower shock mounts

Limit strap tabs with frame overlays

Spacer requirements:

1.5” spacers for 2.5” smoothies on 0 offset

2” spacers for 2.5” triple bypass on 0 offset

Shock fitment notes:

Smooth body: straight fitting top cap, 1.5” eyelet spacing, 1/2” bolt

Bypasses: remote reservoir with forward tube layout (piggybacks will not fit)

Suggested shocks:

King 2.5” x 12” no compression adjuster (SKU KRS-PR2512-SS)

King 2.5” x 12” w/ compression adjuster (SKU KRS-PR2512-SS-A)

The wheel spacer calculator will not give you a value less than .75" or 3/4".

If you are given this recommended size spacer you must confirm that your wheels are compatible with this size spacer. Your wheels must have pockets on the back side to accommodate the factory lugs protruding past the spacer.

Spacer sizes are calculated to the next closest 1/4" that will allow your tire to clear the shock. Some sizes will be custom order. Bora wheel spacers are our go to for wheel spacers with custom sizing available. Spidertrax is another option but with limited sizing available.
